Provider Opposition to Reproductive Health Services No Longer Grounds for Refusing Care

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
We are grateful for the action taken today by the Biden-Harris administration to repeal the Trump-era Refusal of Care Rule. The old Trump rule, which was blocked by courts across the country, would have allowed health care workers to deny care to people who needed it under the guise of “conscience.”
We’ve said it before, and we’ll keep saying it: Denial of needed health care is not an act of conscience, it’s an act of violence. This new rule will help ensure that vulnerable people receive the care they need.
